Munnar, nature lover’s paradise!

The attractive natural beauty, waterfalls, hillstations, wildlife and lakes together draws tourists from all around to Munnar, a nature lover’s paradise that Kerala tourism offers, and was the summer resort of British Government in South India. The sprawling green tea plantations picturebook towns, winding lanes and holiday fecilities, make this an amazing hillstation.

The venue of the first hydroelectric project of Kerala, Pallivasal which is of immense scenic beauty is situated about 8km from Munnar.

There is Mattupetty, a very beautiful picnic spot with lake and dam and in the vicinity there is expansive Kundala tea plantations. At Powerhouse Water falls the water roars as the cascade down a steep rock 2000 m above sea level is a scintilating experience to the foreign tourists of the state. 15km from Munnar is Rajamala , the natural habitat of the Nilgiri Tahr (a rare mountain goat) which is fast becoming extinct . Nyayamakad near Rajamala is a land of breathtaking waterfalls.
